Description
Rōkansai Iizuka was a leading figure in Japanese bamboo craftsmanship, active from the Taishō to the Shōwa period. He elevated the traditional bamboo baskets, originally used in tea ceremonies, to the realm of fine art. His surviving works continue to attract the attention of art collectors worldwide.

Flower Basket “Chidori” (Hanakago “Chidori”)
Description
Based in Ōtawara City, Tochigi Prefecture, Keizō Yagisawa was dedicated to mentoring the next generation of artisans, with his workshop producing two Living National Treasures. He also crafted a bamboo handbag for the Empress, making significant contributions to the development of bamboo craftsmanship in Tochigi.

Description
A Tochigi-born artist who studied under Rōkansai and Kōkansai Iizuka (a Living National Treasure). His work features the nejiri-ami (twist weaving) technique, which strengthens the structure by intertwining two horizontal bamboo strips.
